Public encouraged to comment on draft Atlantis informal trading plan

The City of Cape Town is encouraging the public to make its voice heard on the draft revised informal trading plan for Atlantis.

The draft plan concerns Wards 29 and 32 and aims to update the existing trading plan that went into effect in 2015.
 
‘We are very keen to have the input of Atlantis residents and businesses who are directly affected by the outcomes of this proposed plan. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your say,’ said Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth.

'This informal trading plan will allow residents to take up trading spaces to partake in the community’s local economy and thereby also create employment opportunities for residents. To have a growing economy, you must include locals that can boost informal markets,' said Councillor Allistair Lightburn from Ward 29.
 
Residents are also invited to attend an open day information session on 10 February 2026 between 11:00 and 16:00 at the Wesfleur Public Library.
 
The comment period is open until 10 March 2026.
